WE ARE EXCITED TO OFFER SPANISH CLUB THIS WINTER!

Studies have shown that learning a 2nd language aids students in other academic areas as well as enhancing creativity & problem-solving skills.    

Our immersion-style Spanish Club includes interactive language lessons incorporating games, music, activities, singing and crafts.   We’ll learn introductory phrases and vocabulary as well as learn vocabulary related to our theme 

Sessions last between 8-12 weeks and run throughout the school year October – June.  

Club meets weekly. For grades K  - 5. 

WINTER THEME: 

Waddle into Winter with the Penguin!

Ever wondered how penguins survive in cold, windy places, what they eat, or how they care for their chicks? Bundle up and get ready for a journey to the southern coasts of Latin America! Students will dive into the fascinating world of the Magellanic penguin, discovering their habitats in Argentina and Chile, their unique way of swimming, and the special behaviors that help them stay warm. Along the way, they’ll learn new Spanish vocabulary and phrases tied to our wintry penguin theme.

But that’s just the start! We’ll follow the penguin through its life cycle, explore how penguins communicate, and uncover surprising fun facts about these incredible birds. We’ll also celebrate Winter holidays from the USA and Latin America, bringing cultural connections into our animal studies.

Students will master numbers and practice color words while creating adorable penguin-themed crafts.

And the fun continues at home with a special student notebook filled with learning materials and creative activities to keep the penguin magic alive between classes.

SCHEDULE:

• Students get dropped off 7:55 - 8:00am
• We meet and take attendance
• Talk about their day/weekend - share
• Lesson
• Game/ activity
• Craft
• Teacher walks students to school entrance at 8:45am
